FIFA Council appoints the United States to host the new and expanded FIFA Club World Cup in 2025
The FIFA Council unanimously appointed the United States to host the new and expanded 32-team FIFA Club World Cup in 2025. The host selection process took into consideration the infrastructure and service requirements, as well as broader strategic objectives for the tournament.
FIFA Council takes key decisions on FIFA World Cup™ editions in 2030 and 2034
The FIFA Council unanimously agreed that the sole candidacy for the FIFA World Cup 2030™️ will be the combined bid of Morocco, Portugal, and Spain. In addition, also taking into account the historical context of the first-ever FIFA World Cup, the Council also approved a unique centenary celebration ceremony with three World Cup matches in Uruguay, Argentina and Paraguay respectively. It was also agreed that the bidding processes for both the 2030 and 2034 FIFA World Cups be conducted concurrently, with member associations from the territories of the AFC and the OFC invited to bid to host the 2034 finals.
